5 Walking Trails Near Lewisville That Will Make You Want to Ditch Your Car
If you're looking for an active way to explore the Lewisville area, walking trails are the way to go! Not only are they a great way to get some exercise, but they also offer stunning views of the local landscape, and many of them feel like transportation to a different life.
Here are five of my faves:
Lake Park Trail - With gorgeous views of Lewisville Lake, this 2.5-mile trail is perfect for a relaxing stroll or a brisk jog. Plus, with plenty of picnic areas along the way, you can turn your walk into a full-on picnic adventure.
LLELA Nature Preserve Trail - If you're up for a bit of a drive, the LLELA Nature Preserve Trail is well worth the trip. This 2.5-mile trail takes you through some of the area's most stunning natural habitats, from forests to wetlands to prairies. Keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife like bison and beavers!
Lewisville Hike and Bike Trail - If you're more of an urban explorer, check out the Lewisville Hike and Bike Trail. This 2.5-mile trail winds through several parks and neighborhoods in the city, offering plenty of opportunities to check out local businesses and public art installations. Plus, with wheelchair accessibility, it's a great option for everyone.
Central Park Trail - Looking for quick and easy? The Central Park Trail is just 1.2 miles long, making it the perfect option for a lunchtime stroll or a post-dinner walk. With a scenic lake and plenty of playgrounds and sports fields nearby, it's also a great spot for families.
Coyote Ridge Trail - Located just outside of Lewisville in Coyote Ridge Park, this 1.7-mile trail offers stunning views of local flora and fauna, from fields of wildflowers to hawks soaring overhead.
