ROI where it really matters.

When we think about ROI (return on investment), we immediately think about our money, mostly investments right?

How are we spending our money?

Is it a good investment that will make money on the dollar?

Are we being responsible?

I have been making my way through Marie Forleo's Time Genius program over the past couple of weeks and let me just tell you now - HIGHLY RECOMMEND. (If you would like to hear my takeaways, respond to this email because I am very happy to share!)

What has taken me off guard though is this:

Time is just like money.

Except, there's a limited amount of it in a day, week, month and year. We are so focused on our financials, how we spend our money and if it's the wrong decision that we forget to acknowledge that the time will pass, no matter what.

How do you invest your time and what do you receive in return of that?

A few examples:

✨ The mornings you spend getting your kids ready for school isn't just day to day life. It's the little morning connections and taking care of your children, something that you'll never regret.

✨ The daily/weekly fitness class that you show up to. Society used to tell you “weight loss" was the return, but really its connection with the community around you, a moment of mediation and pouring back into your cup so you can enjoy life a little better. (Also ENDORPHINS!)

✨ The nightly Netflix episode that feels “unproductive" brings connection with your family or spouse. (P.S. Derrick and I are finally catching up on HoD!)

There are so many more. Before you start to beat yourself up about not using all of your time to be productive, make money or clean the house, think about what you're actually getting in return.

Tell me - what is your favorite way to spend your time? What feels good no matter what?
